
Welcome to the Illinois Flames Track Club
The Illinois Flames is a nationally ranked track club. We teach biomechanically efficient sprint and quickness training. You will learn proper sprinting mechanics to significantly improve your running performance. Whether you are a distance runner or sprinter, proper running techniques will improve your overall performance.
Our emphasis has always been on the student athlete, understanding the basic fact that without academic achievement, the athlete does not have an arena in which to perform. Also, we strongly believe that discipline in academics will improve disciple in athletics. By joining the Illinois Flames we will help to develop your running techniques as well as field event techniques.
Illinois Flames Information
We are part of AAU Athletics as well as USA Track and Field, The Flames are a nationally ranked track club. Listed below are the divisions the athletes compete in based on their year of birth. For track, division are based on when athletes are born not their current age. Also listed are the events the athletes can compete in.

**Athletes born in 1999 may still compete as long as they are still in high school and have not turned 19 years old, on or before August 3rd, 2017
***Per USATF Rule 300.1 (c) "Athletes must be at least seven (7) years of age on December 31 of the current year to compete at the Youth Athletics or Junior Olympic National Championships."
****Athletes who are still 18 through the final day of the USATF National Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships are eligible to compete in the Young Men's and Young Women's divisions through that meet.
